i want to know how large database i can have in XML database
is it powerfull as SQL or oracle database. what about the speed of access through the application

Depends a lot on which XML Database you choose right now. In a nutshell, no, none of the XML DBs out there today will rival the capabilities Oracle can offer. If you have a relatively small data set and working exclusively in XML (or something easily created via XSL), an XML DB could save you the big money Oracle costs. Our DB Admins say Oracle isn't worth the money unless your dealing with at least a hundred thousand elements. FWIW.
