Hi,
I've been looking hard for an XML content editor with no luck.

The structure of XML files we use is inflexible. They cannot change. However, we edit the content in them frequently for technical purposes.

We have very long files and need to change every entry of certain fields. We ideally need something that shows the data in a grid format. It also should be able to do simple math, e.g. increment by 10 from one field to the next.

Excel would be ideal but it cannot handle a list of lists. It lists one field multiple times.

Any ideas at all would be appreciated. I've been using Altova Authentic without much luck.

If you use XML in your development chain, then you really should visit and support the OpenQL Quick Language project @ sourceforge.

Benefits of OpenQL
No closing tags.
Data and structural expressions are completely separate, two distinct channels unlike messy XML which has one.
Massively compressed.
Create XML as quick as you can think and type it.
Guaranteed to beat any XML Wysiwig style editor.

You can use the projects free OpenQL to XML editor called xmlKiller online @ sourceforge.

If you choose to evaluate this new technology, the project team would appreciate any and all feed back.

If you can spread the word, that will help a lot.

The fastest way to construct nicely formatted XML guaranteed.
