.xml attachment cannot read

I have something.xml email attachment
when I download it to view it, Dreamweaver opens up but I cannot read anything that is on it ... how can I view its content

If you can't read the content in Dreamweaver, then notepad probably won't help. Are you sure it has content?

Should look something like this:

Notepad is a quick way to see. (dreamweaver is annoyingly slow at opening!)
