Hi,
I have downloaded and am tinkering with the Cisco IPTools kit that includes several canned features. I have been testing several of the apps and would like to deploy them.
Is there an easy way to point the phones to one ASP or XML page and let the user select from multiple features?
I would like for them to push the "Services" button and have a list of features to choose from:
Calendar
Stocks
Weather

If somone could send me a few tips or point me to a good how to site, I would be greatly appreciative.
Dan

what version call manager? You might be able to use the bat tool to deploy this.

As you deploy these apps, you will create IP Phone Services. Then they will do exactly as you want as a menu behind the Services button on the phone. I have seen these on several systems. They work well but be very careful if deploying the 'Clock' app as an idle screen. When this is deployed not only do ALL the phones keep checking with the app for when it changes to the next minute (lots of network traffic), but every phone doesn't check at the same time so 2 phones side by side could show 2 different times.

Forgot to mention, as whykap pointed out, you have to Subscribe each phone to the Service. As long as you use the same Username and Password for all the Users, you may be able to do a phone update/BAT to bulk subscribe the phones.

whykap - I am using 6.0

pndscm - I have created services via Device\device settings\phone services

If I log into CCMUser, I see the services. However, I do not know how to subscribe?

If I hardcode the url on the phone level in CCM Gui, I can get the invidual app to work from the Services button (next to settings).
What am I missing?
Thanks,
Dan

On the Device/Phone page, in the top right hand corner of the page is a drop down. In it is Subscribe/Unsubscribe Services. There is where you can pick what services you want to be on the phone.

Found it. It shows that I have already subscribed to them.
Whne I press the services key, it says un-authorized.

Did you remove the hard coded URL from the phone level? I've never seen it say unauthorized before.

I located in Enterpise Param the URL Service field. It was populated (installation tech) with the following server ip>:8080/ccmcip/authenticate.jsp
Dont know what this was for, but now my unauthorized message went away.
now when I press the svc key, it says "select servic..." but nothing is displayed.
Will keep toying with it.

Ok. I looked at the real time trace and it is showing my phone trying to authenticate. The device name, user, and pw are empty.
I read somewhere else that having Berbee installed would cause these issues due to the authentication url pointing to them. It is supposed to redirect all authentication information to the call manager. Im currently trying to figure out how to trouble shoot this as berbee uses tomcat.
