Hi Everbody,

I am new to this field and I would like to clarify few things from your end.

My first question is why I should use XML, if I can store the same information in any of the database and with the help of web and suitable frontend I can execute any queries
and can get the data.

When they say that using xml your data is on the net. Now what do you mean by net.

regards,
Nitin

Hello,
XML will not replace DBMS as like MS SQL Server 7.0 or Oracle or etc.
XML is a common language with which help not only information is stored, but it can be used as standard for exchanging information.
XML serve as a tool for exchanging information: for example data stored in MS SQL Server 7.0 database will be queried and the results are stored in XML format, then some data could be read from Oracle and again stored in XML format - and both can be shown in one way with XSL.

It will be nice to hear other voices.
What is your opinion?
D.
