I want to display a long text value (call notes) in a cell (not a textbox - spellcheck seems to ignore those). Quick tests indicate that, while I can put over 10,000 characters in a cell, only something like 1,170 of them display. I know the rest are still there because Len(MyCell) tells me the true length.

I set Wrap text to true, and tried Autofitting the row, but neither worked. Dragging the row height to increase it only shows blank space in the cell. Even wierder - the characters that are displayed don't seem to be the first 1,170 of the 10,000 - it's like the Wrap Text is wrapping a ways past the right edge of the cell.

Any ideas? Or is this an annoying Excel limitation?

from the xl help file for specifications...

Length of cell contents (text): 32,767 characters. Only 1,024 display in a cell; all 32,767 display in the formula bar.

Thanks - have a star! You are helpful, but that cell limitation is NOT. It does seem to be a bit flexible though, depending on how many carriage returns there are and what font size (?!!?) the text is in.
