In the <meta> tag, many XHTML authors use "text/html" for content. This is not safe! Depending on the browser, some interpret the document as HTML, disregarding the DTD! So for future reference, do not use "text/html". Instead, use "application/xhtml+xml". Note: This may "break" your page because it was being handled improperly. For more information, go to .
 
Note: For the sake of compatibility, use both application/xhtml+xml in one tag and text/html in another duplicate tag below that rather than just one or the other. If your browser doesn't support application/xhtml+xml, it should look for another tag with text/html.
