Hey all,

I've seen this problem multiple times with different versions of Redhat (9 and WS, ES) but I don't know what the problem is. Here is the scenario:

I want to have multiple X sessions running at the same time. So I log in to session 0 (started w/gdm). Start a terminal and type in XFree86 :1. The screen goes blank, I get a mouse cursor which moves but then that's it. I can't right click or anything else. Is there something else that needs to be done to make this work. If I enable XDMCP and from a remote machine Xnest -query servername:1 I get a remote login and everything works however this is not what I am after.

Thanks for any assist.

AMPLIFYING INFO: Use the nvidia driver for NVIDIA 3000 card. Disabled this driver and sub'd for the vesa driver just to make sure the problem was not the nvidia driver itself. Same result.
