I've setup a system speed dial number starting from a Legend switch in Chicago,IL. to a Magix switch in Minneapolis,MN. No problem for a person to hit their button in IL and reach the group they need in MN. Problem happens when they need to xfer an incoming caller in IL over the speed dial number to MN. Their display reads "incomplete xfer". I've set this up remotely thru winSPM. The IL extensions have no restrictions. Is this possible to do?

Make sure the ext.'s doing the transfer to speed dial are entered into trunk to trunk transfer and remote forward under ext.'s.

Instead of a SPEED DIAL, I would set up a "PHANTOM" Extension (IL) FORWARDED to the MN location.

And probably vice versa....

You woud need to set up Trunk to Trunk xfr and the like...

Thanks Killbox! I forgot about the Remote Forward, but they are still getting the same display. TouchToneTommy, the "reliable disconnect" is not an issue in this case, per Telco. I wonder if I'm telling them to xfer the call incorrectly. Would the called person hit xfer>CO Line>xfer>speeddial button? HELP!!

The "reliable disconnect" is an issue with the Merlin in extending calls through trunk to trunk transfer. If it is set to "no", you will get incomplete transfer.

It looks as if I'll have to create a "phantom extension". TouchToneTommy, how and where do I check the "Reliable Disconnect" option?

Go to lines and trunks, TT LS Disconnect and then LS Disconnect, and yes.

Thanks for all the help. I had it programmed correctly from the start. My problem was that we we not waiting for someone in Mn to pickup before we hit xfer the second time. Funny, I thought after a call started ringing on the far end that trunk xfer had already taken place. That will teach me to think!!

Hit "#" the end of the number, and you can hit "transfer" right away.

The Legend is "funny" that way. It is the only phone system I know of that uses # as an end of dialing signal.

But it does, and usually it works.

To Mongo5150; May you never have a problem!! Hey folks, could the # possibly be programmed? It would be great if it could be added at the end of the speed-dial number maybe after a pause. Any ideas?

Yes it can.

To add the pound (#) simply press # Twice where you want it, and then it is there.
