Can someone give me some guidance. I want to transfer
some files between a laptop running windows 3.1 and a laptop
running win 95. Neither pc has a nic card. I was hoping
to construct a serial or parallel cable between them and
setup like ras or something.
I have found a site with information regarding transferring between win 3.11 and nt 4.0. It says I
need a win 3.11 disk 7 which I dont have. Thanks for
your help.

Floppy disk?

Or Serial or parallel crossover cable

You should be able to find crossover cables on ebay, maybe preowned ones at a computer shop.

The above page includes a download for an old dos based file transfer program called laplink as well as some information on cable design.

Laplink would be the way to go. It will run with either type port and if you can find an old copy you might even get the cables.
Post back if you need cable diagrams.
