Xerox Workcentre 7328 jam error

When network scanning on a Xerox Workcentre 7328; if a paper jam occurs while scanning more than one document, after the jam is cleared the user has to start the scanning process all over again. The screen displays the following message: "Short of original, please load original or press cancel". Is this normal operation, or should the user be able to to resume where the jam occurred after clearing and reloading the paper that caused the stopage? As it is now he has to cancel. Any suggestions? Thanks.
