Can anyone tell me if the QMS Magicolor 3100, the Brother HL-4000CN and the Xerox Phaser 6200 can all use the same toner cartridges? (perhaps with slight mods?)
They all use the same Xerox/Fuji engine, and I have found some "discrete" references on some toner sites that seem to tie these machines together, but I cannot find it stated anywhere *explicitly* that these printers use the same toner and/or toner cartridges, though the cartridges look the same.
I have researched this to the point that I am confident the Toner itself is the same, but as far as I can tell (without having any in my hands to look at), the Magicolor 3100/Brother HL-4000CN/Xerox Phaser 6200 toner CARTRIDGES are all keyed differently.
Anyone know what kind of keying is used and if it can be defeated either on the cartridges or on the printer?
Any insight appreciated!
Thanks!! RFaxman
