When turning the printer on, the machine goes through its POST test, RAM test and then printhead test. After these tests "XEROX" is displayed. The display then goes blank for a split second and then "XEROX" is displayed yet again but this time with the green LED on to the left of the display and stays in this state. The machine power supply fan is on constantly also.
I have reseated all connectors to the main board and power supply and also the Memory dimm but still the same. Unfortunately there are no error messages either. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. . . .

Thanks

John

There can be a number of reasons for this problem, the most common lately has been a problem with the printhead causing the printer to lock up. Do you hear any mechanical initialization when powered on?

Hi marty5261, thanks for your reply. On power on there is no mechanical initialization as expected. Only the power supply fan comes on.

Unfortunately it does sound like a printhead, but the only way we had to troubleshoot a problem like this was to have all the parts such as a head , main board, power control board etc. and just plug them in and see which one resolves it. Sorry I dont have a better answer for you.
