I have a 8200 that requires a new print head due to lock-ups at power on, can anyone tell me if there is some kind of printhead alignment process after fitting the new head?

Thanks

John

No alignment needed. The drum to head spacing is factory set and should not be adjusted. Mount the head on its posts plug in the cables and your done. Take note of the cable dressing and make sure you secure the new ones the same way. Also the head may be hard to remove and you need to make sure it lifts out evenly, if cocked to one side it wont come out. You may need to break free each side first then pull out evenly. Be careful of the drum, it scratches easily and it will show up on prints. Place a couple sheets f paper between the head and drum to prevent scratches.
