xerox 6250 jam

I have a 6250 that jams on tray 2 fine on tray 3 and manual tray 1 when it jams it prints out the second page and then calls out the jam, the jam is exact for every print so that rules out a roller slip as it's more of a exact fail, i measured the printout on the second page as it's skewed in the same spot on the second i measured it and it occurs at 14 inch intervals yup legal size i loaded legal and no more jams, i tried another tray no change, switches appear to be working? any ideas? settings are set for letter
