hello friends

does sombody knows the postscript string to select various papar trays?

The goal is to switch betwenn letterhead-paper, logopage-paper and neutral-paper.

I have used the following, it dosn't work

mark statusdict /setpapertray known{{statusdict begin 2 setpapertray end}stopped{end}if}if cleartomark

This is the command we use in Word97:

{PRINT \p page"grestore matrix currentmatrix<</MediaColor(blue) /MediaType(preprinted)>>setpagedevice setmatrix gsave"\p page \* MERGEFORMAT}

Is your Xerox online?

The trick is to set the media on your printer by setting the trays and changing the media with commands in postscript.

Similar to what khamm does in Word97, I use this in PostScript itself...

statusdict /lettertray known {statusdict begin lettertray end} if
<</PageSize [612 792] /MediaColor (Green) /ImagingBBox null>> systemdict /setpagedevice get exec

You define your tray colors on the printer and instruct the operator(s) that Letterhead goes in "Green", Logo paper goes in "Blue", and plain white paper goes in "White". Then you place your setpagedevice commands wherever a change is needed.
