I'm seeing an odd issue when adding a Virtual Disk to iSCSI storage on Xenserver, sometimes the device path for a virtual disk shows as <unknown>

I have three LUNs setup and two are hosing VMs, the virtual disks on LUN1 and LUN2 show up as /dev/hda but on LUN3 they show as <unknown> when this happens the VM can't boot.

Can anyone suggest why this is happening?

Thanks.

Are your servers in a resource pool or is it a standalone server?

If they are in a pool, make sure that both servers are connecting to the same iscsi target using the same LUN number

Hi yes they are in a pool but I think it's sorted now, I went back for a look later and a path is now showing and the VM will now start. Very odd.

Thanks.
