Hello,
I’ve spent a long time debugging this issue and finally have run out of any ideas.
When users try to save files within a Citrix session on their local C drive an error message pops up:
The folder “\\client\C$’ isn’t accessible. The folder may be located in an unavailable location, protected with password, or the file name contains a/ or \.
Scenario:
New XenApp 6.0 implementation on Server 2008 R2,
Citrix Profile Management has been deployed to replace Microsoft Roaming profiles
Clients running WinXP OS
Client’s local C drive maps just fine within Citrix session to “C local on (Client’MachineName)” but no access. However they can save under “My documents” folder (folder redirection) or under any other network location - anywhere but not locally.
What already has been done?
When client is logged on Citrix server via RDP, he can access \\clientmachine\C$ without any problem.
File Security on local client’s machine XenApp client has been reset to: Full Permissions
The webica.ini file has been modified on local machine and under Citrix Profiles Management to
[Access]
GlobalSecurityAccess=405
Remote Desktop Host Configurations (formerly Terminal Services) on Citrix servers RDP-TCP and ICA-TCP have been modified with all possible configurations.
The same applies to Local and Active Directory GPO’s and Citrix Policies.
Finally all settings have been reset back to default values which enable drive mapping and full access.
One Citrix server has been taken out of OU to test, just to make sure there are no other security policies restricting access to a local C drive.
There is Citrix PS 4.5 Farm that runs in parallel and users can save files without any problems.
I’ve also uninstalled XenApp plug-ins ver. 12 and installed ver. 11.0 on client’s machine and still no luck – both a Web and full client.
Help please, any ideas or directions?
Many Thanks
Robert T
