I recieved the following alarm:

XCT005 0 FFFF871D: The CPU recieved an unrecognized message from the Conference/TDS/MFS Card. Where: x equals message received. I am assuming that "x" is FFFF871D. What does FFFF871D mean? The NTP also doesn't give any course of action. And is this considered a MAJOR alarm? I appreciate your help.

Hi,

do you get the message often???

If not, don't worry about it

we got it two days in a row. It didn't sound serious but the office manager in that office is asking what it means. It seems that it has something to do with the conference card but I wasn't sure about the relevance of the FFFF871D message. As a side note, how IS anyone supposed to know what that means? Or is that something only an ETAS engineer would understand? I appreciate your help (and I love your Bill Gates blurb)

Well I don't know what it means either. If you realy want to know what it means, I think you must call ETAS.

I also have a customer that wants to know the meaning of EVERY error/bug. Very annoying.

Tell him something like that the conference card solved a problem by its self or something. Works 90% of the time for me.

I actually already did tell him something along those lines but was wondering more for myself what all those letters mean. I didn't want to get stuck in a situation where I'm telling him it's nothing to worry about, and it turns out the FFFF871D actually means the card is about to explode and take out his entire PBX! Seriously, though, the NTP offers no guidance as to what to do regarding that particular alarm. thanks for your help
