I am trying to xclip an external reference and I would like to pick what side of the boundary that I would like to keep. Currently you keep what is on the inside of the boundary and I would like to reverse that. I work with very large files and creating polylines with different shapes are cumbersome and using the wipeout tool isn't working correctly. I also tried to creating two shapes with a connection point, but where the lines over lap part of the drawing that also disappears and I can’t have that. I am currently working with AutoCAD 2002. Can anyone help me please? If there is any VBA out there to create a button that would be great also.

You can slelct a new boundry with xclip

1. command line "xclip"
2. select xref
3. "N" (for 'New boundry')
4. you can either draw the new boundry now, or type "S" (for 'Select polyline')
5. thats it, you have just redifined the boundry of the xref

hope the help was not delayed too long for you.

Only possiblity is to clip inside the boundary. You can copy the xref & clip the areas you want to keep.

You can reverse the cliping lines by drawing poly-lines so that they are almost on top of each other (I.E. they can have a 1/32" separation.) This would avoid the error "self intersecting clipping lines.
