I have this problem when I start xcdroast.
First I get,
Something in the scsi bus has changed.
Please check your writer and reader configuration in setup.
Yes, of course I put in a new cd-rom.
A toshiba XM 6302B cd-rom.

Later I get this message,
No CD-writer or cd-rom detected.
For ATAPI/IDE devices under Linux you have to enable
SCSI-Emulation in the kernel i norder to activate them.
I guess this has nothing to do with xcdroast (yet !!!)

Advice please.
 
You can always test to see if your system sees the cd-writter:

'cat /proc/scsi/scsi'

This should let you know if your system has all the proper drivers loaded, and sees the cdrw without conflict. If you do not get any output, or receive an error, check out this doc:
