I have a cd burner hardware on my machine running on Redhat7.1. I installed teh xcdroast and cdrecord rpms on the system and ervything is ok except that it seems to ask for root authentication to run the software. I want other users to be using the cd burner as well. I go into setup ->users and add local users names, but still I cannot seem to let other users use xcdroast. It pops up a box each time I type in xcdroast prompting for the root password.
What do I do ??????????????
Thanks.

Hi,

Pre 0.98, xcdroast only runs with root permissions because it accesses partition level info. The latest ones should be OK --> . However, please note that redhat disabled the non-root functionality in their build of xcdroast so you need to get the one from the above address.

Hope this helps
