Here's a situation that I need advice on:

A Linksys AP, WAP54G, firmware 2.07 is running MAC filtering. 3 computers are running fine. However, there is an xbox with a wireless adapter that sees the SSID but also sees channel 11, when the channel that the Linksys is using is 3. So, the xbox remains offline. The Xbox wireless is running on infrastructure mode. I have plugged the MAC for the xbox wireless adapter and the xbox built-in adapter into the Linksys.

There is also a PC running XP pro with all the patches installed that has a very similar problem. I tried a Linksys WMP54G v1.0 and a Netgear WG311 v2 and each time, the card sees the SSID but can't connect.

Because 3 other computers are working fine, I know the problems I'm seeing on the xbox and the 4th PC are very likey machine-specifc, but I'm wondering what is the cause and what is the cure.

Thanks for your help!

Check authentication & encryption. If you have these configured, make sure the key is the same.
Also, make sure that the ssids are written the very same way as these suckers ARE caps-sensitive. You already made sure you had the same index (channel).

One of these is probably yer culprit!
Good luck,

Simon

Encryption is disabled and so is authentication. SSID is exactly the same. In fact the Xbox detected the SSID as it should be spelled. I have MAC filtering turned on, but the MAC addresses have been entered. But no luck.
