X3850 RSA II password 2

Hi All,

We have an x3850 server and the RSA password is lost.

Is there any way to recover/reset to factory it?

I know as per the doc it says to replace the IO board.
Would like to know if there is another work around without a need to replace the IO board.

You can use the ASU utility to reset the USERID password (or create a new User ID if required). It does not require any credentials if you run it from the server itself. It is a command line utility but should hopefully be easy to understand how to use.

Do you know where I can find the BIOS FW ver. 1.09 for this server?

I looked at IBM website, it just shows 1.12 availability.

An older version of Update Express should contain that.

Yes, I do think so. But I didn't find the old version of UpdateExpress.

Do you know where is it available to download?

Is there a reason why you need v1.09? If not, why don't you just install v1.12? It seems a bit of a waste of time trying to hunt down an older BIOS version unless there is a specific reason to do so?

I may be able to put an older version on FTP, but I would not turn it on until after 5PM, CST.

The two versions I have are 4.04 and 4.06---I will put them both on FTP, and you can dl them after 5PM CST.
