About to upgrade to Vista from XP64 due to the expected lack of drivers for XP and decided, after speaking with the techs that I don't have time to waste hoping desperately that Paradox 2001 or so will work with it, so I just bought an upgrade.

Just out of curiosity, and as Pdox is the center of my business, is there any reason to upgrade except for the firm belief that if something in a "legacy" software will go wrong on Vista it will?

My wife has Paradox 11 (12 or x3 if you wish; it is all P10 with additional patches not available fors 10).

LOTS of problems.

But it has nothing to do with Vista; she uses XP sp2.

I think Paradox 10 with most recent patches applied is the last stable version.

And I have never gone past P9/SP3.

I have xp64 with no problems with Paradox. How are post 10 versions lass stable?

That is, I am running P11. The one issue I have is that the working directory reverts to My Documents every time I close it down. Will address that issue by itself.

Corel, in its wisdom, created a RUN command that resets all preferences to THEIR choice at install.

Search the registry and blow that entry away. As well, you can search & destroy Pdxregcl.exe - which is the file that keeps resetting your settings. But you need to do the registry stuff regardless.

Thanks again.

Like your sig, by the way.
Problem solved, thank you very much, but it leaves a mystery.
Corel claims this program is spy ware, but it was obvioulsy installed with my box fresh software, as others have noted elsewhere. While, however, most of the components were created in Mar 2003, this was created June 2004.
There are only a couple of possibilities here, and none make a lot of sense. curiouser and curiouser.
