Im trying to produce an X-Y scatter plot.

Ive got two columns of data in a report, for (Running Total of A)/(Grand Total of A) and (Running Total of B)/(Grand Total of B). When I go into the Chart Wizard, I choose the data tab, and neither of the formulas are listed.

I guess the problem is that Crystal wont chart any data which is calculated from a grand total. Any clues for a workaround for this?

Thanks

Are you able to use conditional formulas instead?

//{@A}:
If {table.field} = "A" then {table.amt}

//{@B}:
If {table.field} = "B" then {table.amt}

Assuming you have a grouping field, you can then insert a scatter chart, add the conditional formulas using sum and then check the option "show as percentage of grand total".

I dont fully understand this. Whatever I try, the Summary Options in the Chart Expert are always greyed.

Heres the situation in a bit more detail.

Ive got a table grouped on field M (and sorted descending), and Im displaying fields M and N. I calculate M * N, and then the two fields I want to plot against each other are:

@A = 100*{#RTotalofN} / Sum {N} and
@B = 100*{#RTotalofM*N} / Sum {M*N}

That should give me an X-Y scatter chart of Expected Cumulative Percentage Rate (A) vs Observed Cumulative Percentage Rate (B).

The whole thing works if I calculate absolute values instead of percentages - I can pick the two running totals from the list of graphable fields, but I cant plot them summarised by the Sum.

I am suggesting that you should use conditional formulas instead of running totals? Please clarify what you are not understanding.
