X Windows troubles

Hello all,

I am running the most current stable release of FreeBSD (5.2, I believe) and I am having trouble getting the X server running.

When I run XFree86 -configure or startx, I get the following error message:

Fatal server error:
xf86EnableIO: Failed to open /dev/io for extended IO

I believe I have configured everything properly as far as the monitor and video card settings.

Any ideas?
