does anyone know what permissions need to be set for X-Windows to work. I have a lpar running AIX53TL04 with all the X11 filesets installed and I can only get the root user to work with Xwindows. Any non-root user can not access the lpar. I get a login screen and when I enter the correct passwd the X-Windows goes away... any help would be greatly appreciated...

well, i don't have enough experience with X-windows but i have it installed and configured for both root and oracle user!

I just created a new user called uktest on the same LPAR (I usually use ssh to login) here is what i got from cygwin

Code:
$ ssh -Y -f uktest@test1 xterm
uktest@test1's password:
Warning: No xauth data; using fake authentication data for X11 forwarding.
1356-364 /usr/bin/X11/xauth:  creating new authority file /home/uktest/.Xauthority

706938@S4165 ~
$ xterm: unable to open font "-*-ergonomic-medium-r-*-iso9241-20-*-*-*-c-*-iso8859-*", trying "fixed"....

could you please post the .profile of the user you are using to login?

Regards,
Khalid
