I have a server that's behaving strangely (RH 7.2, 2.4.7-10, KDE)

When I go into X-windows I get small graphical errors. Nothing seriuous, just mousepointer looking funny and such.

When I log out the prompt looks all scrambled.
The text is floating all over the place and I can't see where I'm typing or what I'm typing. I have to do a init 6 to restore it and that's rather annoying.

I've tried running Xconfigurator to change monitor/graphics without success.

What can be causing this? I can live with the funny mouse-pointer but in "text-mode" everything must look alright. /Sören

Hi,

Sounds like you just have the wrong mouse protocol in your XF86Config or XF86Config-4 file. Re-run Xconfigurator and try a different mouse protocol - e.g. set generic or micro$oft .

Hope this helps
