Hi - Newbie here
I am working with subreports ok but need some help.
How can I link the summary data to a subreport?
For example:
Jan Feb
Cust1 10 12
Cust2 8 9

Numbers=count of orders

How do you link the (count of orders) in the x-tab to drill-down to the detail level, I was thinking on a sub-report. I am able to do basic subreports like adding a separate link, but not to have the (count of orders) linked.

Thanks for the help on what I’m sure is such a basic question to everyone.

I am confused. What exactly are you hoping to link a count of orders to? These are simply intergers. What is your desired output?

You would have to create a separate subreport for each month, with subreport record selection criteria that limit records to that particular month. Each subreport would be linked to the main report on Customer. Make each subreport an on-demand subreport, and then go edit subreport->subreport->edit subreport caption->x+2 and enter the text version of your summary:

totext(sum({@Jan},{table.customer}),0,"")

//where {@Jan} is a formula like:

if month({table.date}) = 1 then 1

..or use whatever formula you originally used to derive your summary. The summary is then the link that can be drilled down upon. You can change the font to black from blue, if you wish.
