X server won't start

I have installed Mandrake 9.0, and everything went smooth except for one thing - X configuration. GeForce 4 Ti and NEC LCD 1530v couldn't be used for some reason. I mean, it didn't work at any setting.

After the installation I still coudnn't start the x server. Even xf86config didn't help. I configured everything properly, but it still didn't work.

The weirdest thing is - the LILO uses the graphics interface and it works during the loading process. Then, when it comes to logging in, the GUI casts into the void...

Any suggestions?

First things first, run SuperProbe and verify your /etc/X11/XF86Config match video card settings.
Secondly, try this: X &> out
This will generate an output of what happens when you start your X server (with none of the wrapper programs). Post this for more help.
