When I login to it as user (not as root), window managers: KDE and Gnome boots very slow and some times X goes to restart. Then I try to close some windows, such as console, they don’t want to close and everything becomes very slow. I give command "top" and it show that process "kdeinit" takes about 99% of CPU time (in KDE). Any other applications works normally. I tried to reboot the machine; to restart services such as ypbind, nfs, xinetd, but with no effect. But when I login as root everything works fine.

Machine is running Suse 9, ypbind, nfs client (home is mounted over NFS), dhcp client.

Regards.

Why don't you start by examining your logfiles, stracing the X server/kdeinit and doing some general investigation. On the face of it I would guess on the nfs mount and/or your nis name service causing the problem, but there is nowhere near enough info to make it a really educated guess.
