We have an AS5300 using 1140 Sip phones. When dialing an emergency #, the sip invite includes a field, X-Original-IP-ADDR: (ip of phone). We are testing with a genband AS server and the SESM rejects the invite with a SIP 400. Error in validating originalIpAddr: address type. Ive searched high and low but havent been able to find anything on this field. Does anyone happen know what would be causing the SESM to reject this.

Eep! good luck with that. You're probably looking at a Genband forum or older Nortel CS2k/AS5300 stuff.

What's the syntax supposed to look like? What Genband server are you trunking to ? straight to an A2 or a C20? What's the intent of passing original IP?

I've only dealt with that at a carrier level, and in my world, sending that private set IP to the carrier wouldn't be helpful, and it's in my PBX that I translate the IP to emergency number I want to send out, so my FROM header to GENBAND is a DID that maps to the location. I don't rely on the carrier translating IP to physical location for me.

So, what's that parameter for in your world and...what are you trying to do? Maybe just script it out at a SBC level if that's all that's stopping you.
