I need to send a file over the internet with a high level of security and am looking at vendors. Verisign says I can use their product if I'm X-509 complaint.

I've never heard of this. Anyone know anything about this and how I can check.

Thanks.

It is an authentication method........... Kerberos is similar.....but not the same thing....

(see links at bottom of that page for links to IEFT and Verisign

I don't think even with Kerberos 5 you have it.......there must be a third party package that can do X.509 security......... not standard AIX though...

Maybe someone else knows..........
