A few months ago I brought up a X.400 connection and directory replication between our site here in the States and our site in Israel. Everything seem to be working fine until the next day. All messages going between sites were stuck in the que and were not moving. I tried to adjust the window size and a few other X.400 parameters but no help. All external internet email works fine because we use the IMS connection for that. I did the mtacheck.exe and there was some corruption so I cleaned it up and mail still moved very slowly or none at all. Everything on the other side SEEMED to be fine from what the admin over there said. When I bring this up again what should I check to make sure that this won't happen again? What parameters, if any, should I change? Could I bring up directory replication using the IMS? This is over a VPN connection at 512MB. The other big issue about mail flow is that all external mail goes through us (mail relay) before it reaches Israel.

Use IMS/IMC and your should be ok. I like it better for Dir-Rep as long as SMTP mail transfer is working. Dan
