I have 2 laptop clients , on XP Pro with Service Pack 2,

their wireless connections keep losing the lease,

after much reading, it is suggested that Wireless Zero Configuration casuses this,

I disabled it on one of the laptops, but the problem is still there?

can anyone point me or offer me any assistance please..

thankyou

You may want to make sure you have the most current versions of the wireless drivers and the native client for the wireless.

What type of wireless unit are you trying to use? What are you connecting to? What security protocols are you using? Is there anything in the log files? Could it be energy saver related?

Check the DHCP lease times.

I have all the current drivers, and latest updates and service pack,

the wireless network is open, (no encryption)

someone suggested turning the encryption off?

Please could you let me know, where to find DHCP lease times?

thanks for the replies guys

So, are you using the client that comes with the wireless or are you using the Microsoft Wireless client to configure your wireless. I have had much better luck with the clients that come with the products versus the Microsoft wireless client.

In your wireless access point configuration, look for DHCP and then look for lease times. Most importantly, check your vendors documentation and/or website for specifics on how to find this information.
