wyx virus in boot sector

iam using McAfee antivirus v.6.01a in my 2000 professioal system. my system has been infected with Wyx virus in the boot sector. the antivirus software cannot clean or delete the virus. how can i clean it or what to do for cleaning the virus

Did you try following the instructions that McAfee provides?

This is a very old virus; if McAfee was running, it should have picked this up and prevented it from installing.
