WYSE Screen Saver Halting Auto Reboot Process

My company utilizes WYSE thin clients. Per Corporate Policy we have the screen savers set to kick in after 1 minute of inactivity. The Citrix time out settings are configured at after 65 mins. of idle time, it disconnects. The reset time out is set for 5 mins after a session is disconnected. So as a recap:

Screen saver kicks in 1 mins after inactivity

65 mins later the session disconnects

5 mins later the disconnected session is reset

Now here is the heart of the problem. It appears that the screen saver halts the disconnect/reset process. When a user sits down at the thin client and wiggles the mouse, the thin client will then shutdown and reboot.

Has anyone else noticed this with their WYSE clients or even another brand? Any comments or input would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I know you have a Corporate Policy in place, but wouldn't it be better not to have a screen saver on the Wyse but on Citrix? You can use the blank screen or create a screen saver with your company logo on and have that come on after 1 minute of inactivity?

That way after 65 mins, the session is disconnected and the screen won't affect it!

Just a thought.

Cheers,
Carl.
