Two of my clients' machines cannot do any surfing. After typing the URL (eg

http://www.google.com)

into the address bar of IE 6 (WinXP Home - SP1), the status bar says that it is trying to find sites called

http://www.www.google.com,

then

http://www.www.google.org,

then

http://www.www.google.net,

and naturally it can't find any of these sites.

Why is this happening? Is it a simple fix?

have you done a check for spyware? try going to a diffrent site as well. sounds like a high jacker.

I've run adaware 6, but that's all. Can you recommend any other spyware checkers?
