I am having a problem with a pop up that is directing me to patchnow.net. I have installed Lavasoft Adaware but the pop up still comes up. The message reads "Buffer Overrun in Message Service Allows Remote Code Execution..." and then directs me to install some software that costs $19.95. When I x the window out another pops up. If anybody has any information on how to get rid of this I would appreciate it. Thanks.

download spybot search & destroy

check your firewall & internet settings

run your virus scanner (doubt this is a virus, sounds like malware) just to be safe

disable your system restore points

run spybot

reboot

if the problems still occurs you are going to need to edit your registry

download & run hijackthis, post log here
