has anybody heard of them and their products?
my boss had just briefly mentioned that he has a project in mind for some not-very-distant future and we will use that product with FileMaker (read: i want you to do something using that product and File Maker and will leave you figuring it all out on your own again).
I just hate when my boss does that!!! errr "I know you can figure it out" is his favourite. I have been figuring it out in the past, but even though it is rewarding in the end, it is annoying and frustrating in the process. He never suggests to buy a book on a subject, let alone send me to training. His idea is that if I bang my head on the wall enough times, I will be able to solve the problem. Considering I am the only IT person in the company, I have nobody to ask and he is not any much of a help (he is a Design Manager)
So... even though it is not the hottest topic of the day for me right now, it might very likely become one in the future and any info on these products you can give me would be extremely helpful. referrals to the web sites with the info would be great too. (please keep in mind that I have never done any server-side development and only have a very brief theoretic understanding of what it is all about)

sorry, I forgot to add the P.S.:
I am not sure if this is the appropriate forum to ask, but could not find a better one. Since this project will include FileMaker I though I'd ask here. If you know of a better forum where I could get more answers - please let me know

It's a start to tell your boss what I think about such a behavior.
For all I care he could put his 'design' where the sun doesn't shine.

thanks for the info. I have asked on othe forums, and hardly anybody can really say anything about lasso development.
Go figure, now my boss said that this project will probably wait until the 3rd or may be even 4th quarter. Gee - wil he ever make his mind up? I have also heard that even though FileMaker is easy to use and a noce software in itself Filemaker + Lasso is not the best platform for a web site. Do you have any experiences/opinions about it?
I have asked him what about PHP + MySQL - pretty satble, free, easy to find resources etc, but he just said "We will use FileMaker and Lasso". errrrr
Anyway, thanks again for the link and your offer of help.

Hi Valeria,

During all those years I have no major problems with FM and Lasso.
Problems are mostly comming from the IT department.
They don't wanna give me the 'machines' (PC and network properly configured for FM and Lasso).
After a few years a could proof I was right.

Anyway, if problems, feel free to ask.
Do it on my emailadd.
I only check this forum once or twice a month.
