How can I obtain a WWN on my HBA?

Okay, what name/number do I need to give my SAN admin to enable this HBA?

Thanks for the reponse, hirschaj!

I give them a network address if the HBA is connected to the switch port right?

Can't the SAN admin also assign LUNs with, what port the HBA wire is connected to on the switch?

The WWN (network address) is usually used to grant access to the LUN's and for the SAN engineer to confirm that they are assigning the LUN's to the proper port.

the switch port location is sometimes used in zoning within the fabric.

the wwn of the HBA should be sufficient to get storage allocated to your server, providing it's connected to the same SAN as the disk subsystem you want to use.
