WTX 8.1 launcher and oracle queued messages

Hello,

We are testing WTX 8.1.0.2 in aix . When we start the launcher our maps begin to process messages from an oracle queue. Usually it works ok but sometimes some messages are not processed, they keep in the oracle queue and it seems that mercator doesn’t notice them unless we restart the launcher.
This problem doesn’t happen with mercator 6.7.1 and oracle9i.
Anyone has had this problem?

We had a very similar problem when using Eventserver 6.7 in combination with MQ Series (WebSphere MQ). The reason for not reading (consuming) messages from the queue were duplicate message IDs. Mercator/WTX seems to remember those already processed and hence skips messages with a known ID. So in case the system producing the messages does not generate unique messages IDs, Mercator/WTX might process only the first message and after that ignore all further messages with the same message ID.

We think that our problem isn't like your's. With mercator 6.7.1 all the messages are dequeued but with mercator 8.0.1 and WTX 8.1.0.2 sometimes we need to restart launcher to process queued messages.

I think you should raise this with support. If it was ok at 6.7.1 then it must be a bug in 8.0.1 & 8.1.0.2

Hi,

As mentioned by that it picks up the data from q when the launcher is bounced.
Here if you have the OnSuccess Property set to Delete and Onfailure RollBack then the msgs would be triggered.
They might be a case where validation in wtx8 is failing compared to mercator6.7. Due to whic the msgs get roll backed and upon bouncing starts to pick up.
Please the input card and compare the type of wtx8 anf mercator6.7 Possibilty of patch required for this issue.
