I could not find an appropriate WSUS forum, so this is where I am beginning since I have the admin installed on a 2003 Server.

My WSUS client updates have been broke for some time. They've worked great for a while, and then all of the sudden, they don't work. I'll occasionlly get the update shield on my XP Pro machines, but it just sits there at "Downloading Updates 0%". When adding new computers to the our Domain, I sometimes won't get anything.

The WSUS admin client detects and shows all computers on the network, but it will send me emails saying computers are failing at a greater than 10% rate. Below is a portion of a recent WSUS log from a newly added client machine trying to update. Can anybody make heads or tails of it? Thanks

Yea, I saw those command line suggestions in another forum, tried them, and it does not appeared to have helped. The difference I found in doing them was regarding the fourth line down (mkdir /s.........) That appears to be re-making the Software Distribution Directory. When trying to execute that as is, I continually got an error. I had to remove the /s and it was then able to execute.

I assume those steps were meant to be run on a client computer. Even though, it did not appear to help.

Any other suggestions would be must appreciated, as I am beginning to pull my hair out with this issue.

I may be missing something, but I am not sure where this Microsoft article applies. My registry settings match what the article implies, and the workaround suggests setting up Auto Updates to download and install automatically. Since I am using group policy to push WSUS updates out, this really doesn't apply. All my auto settings are within Group Policy.

It has actually been doing it for several months now. The Microsoft KB article you refer to points to an issue that MS Office is causing. I do not think this applies in my case becasue my log files are showing different errors, and the test computer I am using to try to resolve the problem does not have MS Office on it.

Still searching for answers if anybody has suggesstions. Thanks
