WSUS 3.0 XP client install

Hey Guys,

WSUS has upgraded there package version for WSUS servers. You can no longer use the web interface, but there is a way to do a client install of such to access the WSUS console.

The problem i am having is finding the switch or install to implement so i can access this. Maybe i am searching for information on this the wrong way, but i cannot seem to find an install package for XP SP2. Does anyone have an idea? Has anyone upgraded to 3.0?

you need to install mmc3 for XP which you can get here:

also need the report viewer which you can get here:

Then run the wsus3 install on the XP box and do a management install. then you can access the wsus3 inface with mmc snapin.

Okay, i installed the two items, but now i am stuck on running the wsus3 install. Where do i get this from? How can i start the mmc snapin. I cannot see it when i type mmc.
