We have Windows Server 2008 Standard SP2. This is our domain controller with active directory, DHCP server, and print services enabled, etc. Can we install SharePoint Services 3.0 SP2 on it? or does it have to be a dedicated application server?

Thanks

It's best practice to not install it on a domain controller, but it should be possible.

Whack it on a seperate server if possible. Hasn't got to be just for WSS - could be a file server, or another web server etc.

Main thing is to spec it out... if your using it for just 10 users then share it with another role (again - not a DC if you can help it). If you have 500 users then get a seperate box (dual core and 6Gb of RAM - nothing heavy).

Worse case scenario - virtualise it using Hyper-V...?
