WSS Template Use - how to delete example data quick

Hi,
When starting a new site and using say the template "Project Team Site - Custom" - this is very nice an a very good start. However it takes ages to delete several of the lists/ surveys etc that are part of the template.

Is there a quick way to say either delete all surveys or maybe edit the template file locally - so that some of the example data is not build.

Hello,

You should be able to save the site as a template once you have it the way you want it, so after you remove all the things you do not want, you should be able to save the site as a template and then upload it in the template gallery.

I agree that it takes quite some time to "clean" all the sample things out from those templates MS released.

p.s. I even tried opening the .stp template file with several programs in an attempt to delete some of the 'sample' data - but it looks like it is a proprietary format.
