WSS full-text search using Web services?

Hi,

Is it possible to implements full-text search using WSS Web services, such as lists.asmx, etc? Does Query syntax allow doing this?
Yes, I know that I can do this in SP Portal MSSQLFT, as well as in WSS object model, but for now I am limited with WSS Web services only.

Any idea?
