How did I miss this? Maybe everyone else has already updated to the latest WSH, Scripting Runtime, VBScript, JScript, etc. This is the version that comes with Vista.

See Windows Script Host 5.7 for the links for Win2K, XP, and Win2003.

Mostly bug fixes, JScript GC optimization, a few minor new features.

It was out some time ago but only for XP not for W2K

The annoying thing about WSH5.7 is that .wsf files do not follow what the /h parameter for cscript and wscript. They always default to wscript.

To force it to cscript, the open method has to be modified in explorer/tools/folder options/file types.

Well that's no fun.

Could they be trying to force people to that goofy "PowerShell" thing instead, to kill off VBScript like they did VB6?
