I have got cisco catalyst 4503 but the software ver is old.

I have another cisco catalyst 4503 but the software is not old .....this is results of show version:

They are different Supervisors so you can't upgrade the first one to IOS as it is a Supervisor II (WS-X4013), whereas the second one is either a Supervisor II+ (WS-X4013+), a Supervisor IV (WS-X4515) or a Supervisor V (WS-X4516). The old Supervisor I and II's can only run CatOS (Layer-2 only). If you want the same features on the first switch you will need to upgrade the Supervisor to at least a Supervisor II+; although I would get the same model Supervisor. You can check what supervisor model you have by doing a 'show module'.

You can however upgrade the CatOS in the first switch to CatOS 8.x, this gives some new features (and fixes) but doesn't offer any Layer-3 (routing features).

The code ont he first one isn't that old I would just upgrade to the highest available in that train which is 7.6.13 which is now considered general deployment by cisco.
